This collection of the Humanitarian Policy Group from 2013 focuses on the humanitarian situation in South Sudan, exploring food security, conflict resolution, state-building.

In an effort to move beyond the focus on the immediate threat of large-scale conflict, this report (2012) explores what type of state can realistically be expected to materialise in South Sudan in the short and medium term, given existing political economy and security constraints. It also discusses what this assessment implies for donor engagement. Download

This report (2011) presents the views of 38 aid agencies working on peace-building, development, and humanitarian assistance in South Sudan. It highlights ten priority areas for action that, in the view of NGOs operating in South Sudan and based on lessons learnt during the CPA interim period, should have been prioritised by donors in the first years after independence of South Sudan for the people of South Sudan.
