Based on assessment conducted in displacement sites in Sobat River corridor in April 2024, this report provides a situation overview in Longochuk, Nasir and Ulang counties. The report found the devastating impact of the airstrikes and violent clashes, resulting in the displacement of 80,000 people in the three counties, with about of a quarter of population fleeing into Gambella, Ethiopia. The trend of displacement has also had a negative impact on disease outbreaks, including diarrhea, malaria and pneumonia. The report discusses the possible worsening of the health, security and food security situation due to the approaching rainfall, the limited access to Malakal, and the escalation of violence which appears to limit access to humanitarian assistance.
